I have often said that psychedelic is a loaded word in music. It always seems to conjure up drugged out excess for some reason when it is really just another word for eclecticism. The Gripweeds manage to combine this psychedelic eclecticism with powerful pop hooks to put together some absolutely first class rock and roll. Listen to Realities, I Believe and Midnight Sun for some great examples of what the Gripweeds have to offer. Their latest CD Giant on the Beach is currently blaring away on the stereo as I write this. You might want to try the same thing too. Great stuff.
